RaceChip Response Control
Maximum driving pleasure with optimized response characteristics
Control your engine reaction – with Response Control
Power isn't everything. How you tap into it is just as important. We developed Response Control so you can get maximum enjoyment out of your engine's power. You can perfectly adjust your engine's response characteristics with six different
settings from fuel-saving comfort to a racy sports car. Your engine's power isn't changed, but it can be activated directly. This makes Response Control an ideal add-on to chip tuning. However, it also works perfectly on its own.
There are many reasons to choose Response Control.

Perfect add-on to chip tuning
Optimized Response Characteristics
Your engine's response characteristics depend upon how directly your engine responds to the commands of the accelerator—in other words, how quickly it provides power and how far the accelerator must be depressed for noticeable acceleration. You can easily adjust your engine's response characteristics to six different settings to fit any driving. At the press of a button you can switch from fuel-saving comfort to the response characteristics of a racy sports car.
6 Customized Settings
The four sports settings incrementally increase your engine's response characteristics: Sport I and II cancel out the slight lag with which some accelerators react. Sport Plus I is ideal for country roads with tight curves. Sport Plus II gives your car the response characteristics of a racy sports car. The two eco levels put a slight delay on the accelerator response compared to series condition and actively help you save fuel.
2 Eco Settings Save Fuel
The two eco levels add a slight delay on the response time of the accelerator compared to series condition. This supports a more comfort-oriented driving style. Especially on slow city roads or in stop & go traffic the eco settings help you save fuel.
Perfect Add-on to Chip Tuning
Response Control doesn't change your engine's power, but it enables you to activate its power much faster. This makes Response Control the ideal partner for RaceChip chip tuning. Of course, it also works perfectly on its own.
No special expertise is necessary to install Response Control. The RaceChip Plug&Drive principle applies here, too. In a couple of simple steps, RaceChip Response Control is installed directly on the accelerator. This pedal tuning takes just a few minutes.

Determine the accelerator pedal type: there are two different forms of accelerator pedal. For Variant 1, the connector to the accelerator pedal sensor is only accessible by first slackening the accelerator pedal (see Step 2). For Variant 2, it is not necessary to slacken the accelerator and the sensor is directly accessible.
Slacken the accelerator pedal: only relevant if Variant 1 is installed in your vehicle. You can otherwise omit this step. Untighten the nuts on the accelerator pedal unit and loosen the unit so that it is slack.
Remove the original connector: release the connector of the original accelerator sensor. This is secured using a clip and must be pushed downwards slightly before the it can be pulled out. Make sure you first understand how the plug connector is removed before attempting to pull it out.
Connect the module to the adapter: connect the wiring harness contained in the scope of delivery to the module, i.e. connect the two green connectors. These can only be connected to each other in one direction. If the connection is made properly, the connectors engage smoothly and you will hear a quiet “clicking” sound.
Connect the module to the accelerator pedal: now connect the wiring harness of the module to the sensor of the accelerator pedal. You can see by the shape of the plug which part is to be connected. Make sure that when you make the connection there is a clear “clicking” sound.
Connect the module to the sensor’s connector: now connect the disconnected sensor of your vehicle (which was originally connected to the accelerator pedal) with the remaining mating part on the module. When making the connection you must hear a clear “clicking” sound. Response Control is now installed.
Tighten the accelerator pedal: this is only applicable if it was necessary to slacken the accelerator pedal. Simply follow the same steps in reverse. Make sure that you re-attach all fastening screws and ensure that these are fastened tightly, so that you do not impair the operation of the accelerator pedal.
Route the wiring: please route the wiring harness in such a way that the movement of the accelerator pedal, or any other pedal, is in no way impaired. It is advisable to route the wiring behind the center-console trim. This can be raised easily so that the wiring can be pushed underneath.
Fix the module in place: you now have the option of fixing the module in place using the supplied Fixing Set (e.g. on the dashboard or center console, but not at a position that impairs vehicle operation). Tip: clean the location beforehand by removing dust and grease.
Perform a function test: check that Response Control has been installed correctly by switching on the module. If the first orange LED lights up, then Response Control is operational. In addition, step on the accelerator to check the throttle response. The installation is now complete.
Enjoy your new driving experience: after the successful installation of Response Control, there is only one thing left for us to do: wish you fun and great driving pleasure!
