    Exclusive, patented High-Flow technology is used in K&N air filters. It maximises air flow and ensures that the engine is supplied with a maximum amount of air for combustion in all conditions. This creates the ideal air/fuel mix in the cylinder – the result is greater efficiency in your engine and, thus, more power and torque. The performance increase is typically around 1-4 HP.

    The smooth operation of today's sophisticated engines depends on every little thing. For example, tiny dirt particles in the air required to burn the fuel: the fewer dirt particles that make their way into the combustion chamber, the less friction loss between piston and cylinder and the less wear and tear.     Unlock the bonnet of your vehicle

    Locate the air filter box

    Our example depicts a 2.0 TDI engine from Audi. The air filter box is in the bottom right corner of the image.

    Open the air filter box

    Open all screws with the correct tool

    Take off the cover of the air filter box

    After taking out all the screws, you can lift and remove the cover of the air filter box.

    Remove the original filter

    Now you can remove the original air filter from the housing.

    Insert the K&N air filter

    Take the new K&N air filter our of its packaging and insert it into the air filter box.

    Close the air filter box

    Now put the cover back on the filter housing and tighten all screws.

    Attach note sticker

    Attach the K&N sticker in a prominent location on the air filter box so as to indicate to the workshop that a swap is no longer necessary.

    Final steps

    Remove all objects from the engine compartment and close the bonnet. That's it. Have fun driving!

Help differentiating CR/PD

Distinguishing between Common Rail (CR)
and Unit Injector (PD)

Applicable to certain Volkswagen AG model series with 2.0 TDI engines

Several Audi, Seat, Skoda and VW model series with 2.0 TDI engines use both CR and PD ("Pumpe-Düse" / Unit injector) technology. RaceChip chiptuning is specially customized to the applicable fuel injection technology with respect to both hardware and software. If your vehicle is specified in the list of applicable models below (all other 2.0 TDI models feature just one type of technology), it is important to determine, before choosing a tuning product, which type of injection technology is installed in your vehicle. For such models, you will therefore find the “CR” or “PD” designation after your engine code.

Using the engine code:

For PD models, the engine code consists of 3 characters, while for CR there are 4 characters. You can find your vehicle’s engine code in the specification sheet in your service booklet or on the data sticker in your engine bay.
